How to Hide folders in Android



Method 1:

NOMEDIA File extension :

A ".nomedia" is a special file which is used specially in Android phones and devices..
A ".nomedia" file is a file which have no data in it.You may think what a big change can be done by simple empty file.But the world fact is simple incident makes a tremendous change  in the life.
place the .nomedia file inside the folder which contains media files. The android media players and gallery cannot scan the media files folder which contains .nomedia file in it.

How to create file with .nomedia extension:
  • Copy any existing text file in to the directory or folder that contains media files that you want to hide from media players,galley.
  • Delete the content of the text file and rename it with the extension ".nomedia"
In ES File Explorer:
  • Move to the the directory or folder that contains media files.
  • Create a new file by clicking +New menu.
  • Name the file with ".nomedia" extension.

Method 2:

Dot prefix:

Android OS is a Linux based operating system.The folder name with dot as a prefix makes the folder to hide from the standard view.

For Example: To Hide the WhatsApp Images visibility from galley rename it with dot at prefix like ".WhatsApp Images".

In most file Explorer the hidden folders are visible but in ES File Explorer, it has the power to enable and disable the invisible power of the folders.
